If you have not joined us for an exciting workshop designed for educators in New Zealand, focusing on integrating Minecraft Education into agricultural and horticultural studies, then there are some videos of the workshops, and the PowerPoint attached. Developed by Sow the Seed, HATA, and Agribusiness in Schools, in collaboration with Anthony Breese from Museograph, Mātiki Minecraft is a unique educational tool set in Totara Estate, Oamaru. This immersive world engages students with detailed information and real-life challenges related to the primary sector.
Workshop Objectives:
In this workshop, you will learn how to:
· Download and Use Minecraft Education with Your Students:
o Step-by-step instructions on downloading and setting up Minecraft Education.
o Tips for integrating Minecraft into your curriculum.
· Guidance on exploring the Mātiki Minecraft world.
o How to teleport and move within the game.
· How to access and use the resources available on the Mātiki Minecraft website.
o Planning lessons and activities using the website's tools.
o Guide Students in completing tasks and and challenges:
· Strategies for helping students tackle in-game tasks and real-life challenges.
o Encouraging problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
· Methods for students to present their completed projects.
o Showcase Student Work in Minecraft
Who Should Watch the Videos?
· Teachers in the agricultural and horticultural science sectors looking to enhance their teaching methods with innovative digital tools.
· Teachers from years 6 - 10 in primary or secondary school.
